In 2009 our school commenced implementation of the
School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program, an approach endorsed and supported by Education Queensland. The focus of SWPBS is to:
- clearly define and explicitly teach expected behaviours in different school contexts
- catch and reward students and staff for positive or desired behaviours
- build teacher capacity to confidently teach and manage student behaviour
- define and consistently apply consequences for inappropriate behaviour
- regularly analyse behaviour data to inform school decision making
- identify and develop specialised programs for "red zone" students
The school's 4 expectations are well recognised and understood by our students.
